Daris LaPointe
Associate
Project Development
(British Columbia, Wind Development Team)
Daris LaPointe develops renewable energy projects for SkyPower in her home province of beautiful British Columbia, on Canada's Pacific coast.
Before joining the SkyPower team in 2007, Daris studied renewable resource management in the forestry sector, earning a technical diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She worked with the provincial government's Ministry of Forests in the promotion of new forest policies and has performed field work as a Forest Technologist.
Daris subsequently worked as a Park Ranger for the Ministry of Environment and patrolled Manning Park, Cathedral Lakes Provincial Park, Snowy Protected Area and the Cascade Recreation Area.
These experiences reinforced her appreciation and passion for BC’s diverse environment, and prompted her to undertake and complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science at Royal Roads University near Victoria, British Columbia.
Daris’ strong commitment to responsible management of natural resources now shapes her approach to developing renewable energy projects to help British Columbia achieve electricity self-sufficiency, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
