Environmental Progress:

InterWind is executing a number of activities related to its Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Byran Wind Project:

  • Publishing a Notice of Commencement; :: NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT :: VIEW HERE

    •
  • Developing a Project Description and Constraint Validation; and

    •
  • Assessing the potential environmental impacts of the Byran Wind Project.

InterWind is following government guidelines in order to complete the environmental assessment process for the Byran Wind Project. Studies are currently underway and scheduled for completion in 2009.

Several baseline studies have been initiated as part of the EA process:

  • Baseline Noise Assessment;

    •
  • Avian Assessment;

  • Bat Assessment;

  • Stage 1 Archeological Assessments;

  • Preliminary Vegetation and Wildlife Studies;

    •
  • Preliminary Assessment of Terrestrial and Aquatic Habitats; and

    •
  • Preliminary Soil, Groundwater and Hydrogeologcial Assessment.

In addition, InterWind estimates that in the Fall of 2009, it will complete the environmental studies for the Byran Wind Project.

InterWind will publish and post the environmental studies when they are complete.
