Project to generate reliable, clean solar energy for the citizens of Los Angeles and surrounding regions

SkyPower US Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of SkyPower Global (Cayman), today submitted a bid to finance, own, design, procure, construct, operate and maintain a 50 MW solar project on Beacon land in Mojave, California. This utility-scale solar project will sell energy to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP).

LADWP is the largest municipal water and power utility in the United States. It was established more than 100 years ago to deliver reliable, safe water and electricity to 3.8 million residents and businesses in Los Angeles.

“We appreciate the opportunity to participate in the second Beacon competitive bid process to provide solar energy for the LADWP,” said SkyPower CEO Kerry Adler. “As a leader in renewable energy procurement and distribution in the United States, SkyPower is pleased to work with LADWP to deliver clean, renewable energy to the citizens of Los Angeles.”

The successful bidder will be announced on June 2, 2014.
